Hamburg: Arbeitsstipendium für Bildende KunstDie zehn Hamburger Künstler, die 2006 das renommierte und begehrte Hamburger Arbeitsstipendium für Bildende Kunst der Hamburger Kulturbehörde erhalten, stehen fest. Die Sieger: Stefanie Becker, Olaf Böckmann, Thorsten Brinkmann, Frank Hesse, Dirk Meinzer, Karolin Meunier, Stephan Mörsch, Tobias Regensburger, Malte Urbschat und Judith Walgenbach.Aus insgesamt 216 Bewerbungen hat eine 14-köpfige Fachjury in einem mehrtägigen Auswahlverfahren die Stipendiaten für 2006 ausgewählt. Die Künstler erhalten für ein Jahr ein mit 820 Euro monatlich dotiertes Stipendium. Am Ende des Stipendienjahres werden ihre Arbeiten in einer Abschlussausstellung präsentiert, zu der ein Katalog erscheint.ART/Petra Bosetti

Hey baby...13 images - portrait mode bleu et portrait animal rouge superposés - prennent place dans les vitrines des Galeries Lafayette, boulevard Hausmann. Un dispositif de gélatines colorées bleu et rouge sur les vitres permet de voir tantôt le portrait mode, tantôt le portrait animal. Nous adaptons ce dispositif à l'échelle monumentale de la coupole du magasin. Pour cette installation, le système optique des gélatines de couleur est remplacé par la projection de lumières, - rouge et bleu - permettant le même jeu visuel à l'échelle des images grand format 5 x 8 mètres. Nous dessinons aussi un motif pour habiller l'intérieur du magasin.

Sarah Cihat is one of the most inspiring sustainable designers I can think of. She's not revolutionizing the power industry, or eliminating our dependence on fossil fuels. Her efforts are arguably small in size, but to me, that is what makes them so largely brilliant and inspiring. Sarah creates Rehabilitated Dishware. She collects used or unwanted ceramics from secondhand stores or overstocked piles and turns them into something new. She resurfaces the plates with modern colors and graphics, which play on the character of the original ceramic design, giving a new appeal to previously unwanted products.
